Gavin created my engagement ring and our wedding rings. Initially we had thought that our ideas were impossible on our budget, and indeed would have been on the high street. We had heard from other sources about some very high-end bespoke jewellery he had made, which had made us a little nervous at first as to whether our budget was a viable use of his time. From the moment we spoke to him on the phone to arrange an appointment he made us feel confident and valued. He remained enthusiastic and encouraging even though our designs changed a dozen times! He advised on the feasibility of our own ideas, as well as offering solutions and further inspiration to make sure it was absolutely perfect. He sent 3D graphics of the rings, as well as pictures of them at every stage of the process, to ensure they were EXACTLY what we were expecting and wanting. Appointments were available late into the evenings as well as at weekends, and he was constantly available by text, phone or email, always seeming eager to speak to us even when we were worried we were interfering too much! The level of professionalism was matched only by how personally he seemed to care about our satisfaction with his creations for us. They were the most easily, efficiently and pleasingly organised aspect of our entire wedding. I have never seen any ring that I prefer to the ones Gavin made for us. Thank you!

Found Gavin through a Google search for jewellery makers in Birmingham and he was the only one with nothing but amazing reviews. I wanted an eternity ring made to fit around my engagement ring and Gavin came up with some amazing ideas. Wearing a piece of bespoke, craftsman made jewellery gives that couturier feel, so you feel 'a million dollars' without having to spend it. It also has the advantage that you will not grow out of your purchase. I wanted something very specific, a gold pendant in the style of a 12thC sword (because I write novels set in that period). I chose Gavin, after looking online, because I felt he was first and foremost a craftsman who loved what he did, and would be as committed to giving me the perfect piece as I was have it. I also felt he would work with me to ensure what I envisaged would 'work' as a jewel. It was a highly enjoyable and stress free collaborative process.I have to say I hit the jackpot. Gavin has produced exactly what I wanted, even suggesting extra detailing, and sourced the cabochon garnet to inset in the pommel. He was perfectly happy to make the blade in white gold and the hilt in yellow gold and keep exactly to the proportions I had requested, He had never made anything like it before, but what I have is not some generic 'pointy thing' that looks Goth, but a stunning jewel of quality, delicacy and charm that is very definitely a sword (12thC style) but still a feminine piece of jewellery. What is more, it was perfectly affordable, though I know full well it would be three or four times the price in the window of a Bond Street jeweller.
I have already commissioned Gavin to make me a pair of earings and a pendant ( no weaponry involved this time) and cannot wait to see the result of his turning my drawings into wonderful reality.

Gavin was a breath of fresh air, compared to my previous experiences with Jewelers. He is a very talented professional who seems to be doing what he loves and even more so he genuinely cares about every single couple/husband to be! that walks into his shop. I went to see Gavin after finding him online to commission an engagement ring for my girlfriend. Gavin was really superb throughout the whole process. I felt Gavin was honest and informative, but never patronising, from my initial consultation to collecting the finished ring. His price was excellent for a bespokely crafted ring and there was no hassle at all as Gavin sourced the diamond for me. We are extremely happy with having my engagement ring made by Gavin Mack. We used family jewelery that had been passed down and wanted to use this to create something new and modern. I looked on Gavin's website and found a ring design in the shape of a flower that I thought was very pretty. Gavin knew that this design would best show off the stones we had. Receiving one free CAD design of how the ring may look, enabled us to visualise it better. We have found Gavin to be helpful, knowledgable and patient. We asked him lots of questions throughout the process and he replied straight away to my texts. We are thrilled to bits with the finished ring. It is so beautiful and sparkles in the light. I have been admiring it ever since receiving it. It is obvious that real craftsmanship has gone into the ring, both with the making of the ring and the setting of the stones. It is very high quality. I was referred to Gavin Mack Jewellery from a friend that had bought his wedding jewellery from him a few years earlier. I dealt with solely with Gavin via text and email only, and have never had a better experience in buying something. I compared the quality and size of the gems that Gavin sourced (a rare pair of matching Columbian Emeralds) and found his prices unbeatable. Having easy access to Hatton Garden jewellers I checked 5 other places and none of them offered as much stone for the price, anywhere near as helpful or genuine.
